In “Things That Go Bump in the Night,” Maxwell Johnson explores the landscapes of the subconscious through surreal encounters and emotional symbolism. His paintings blend mythic creatures, prism-like light, and simplified human forms that hover between playfulness and revelation. Each scene unfolds like a dream – part cosmic, part psychological – where the boundaries between past and present, memory and myth, dissolve.
