Stomping Grounds: Call for Submissions! 

Stomping Grounds is a guest curated, cross-region and cross-selection exhibition of juried works. The exhibition’s focus is to bring together a broad and diverse collection and new scope of efficacious works to the Leamington Arts Centre.

Eligiblity:

  • This exhibition is open to all visual artists located in Ontario.
  • All media is accepted.
  • A maximum of 3 submissions (a diptych series up to 5, are one work/submission)
  • Original works only. Reproductions not accepted for this exhibition.
  • All work must be originals and not copies, derivatives or artworks based in any way on other copyrighted or published artistic works.
  • All work must be entirely executed by the applicant.

This is a guest-curated exhibition. Only those works selected by the curator/juror will be displayed in the exhibit.

About the Guest Curator: Jaclyn Meloche

Jaclyn Meloche holds three graduate degrees in the arts: a Master of Arts in Art History (Carleton University, Ottawa), a Master of Fine Arts, (School of Visual Arts, New York), and a PhD in Humanities (Fine Arts), (Concordia University, Montreal). Her practice spans curation, writing, and visual arts. Through drawing, photography, and sculpture, she is currently working to recover the contributions of women, racialized, and queer bodies in the automotive industry and car culture with the goal of diversifying its new era.
 

How to Submit

Complete this Submission Form. If accepted, deliver the artwork to the LAC before the installation deadline. Incomplete or late submissions will NOT be considered.

Submissions MUST include:

  • Artist Statement (PDF or doc(x))
  • Curriculum Vitae (PDF or doc(x))
  • Artwork (labeled and wired on back)

Submission Fee: 

$35/submission (up to 3 works)

Artist Compensation Fee: 

Selected artists will be compensated according to the 2026 CARFAC standard fee schedule.

Schedule:

Submission Deadline: Friday, September 4, end of day.

Artwork Drop-off: Wednesday October 7, by 5pm.

Exhibition Opens to the Public: Friday, October 9, afternoon.

Reception: Friday, October 16, 6-8pm

Exhibition Closes to the Public: Thursday, January 7 end of day

Artwork Pick Up: Friday, January 8 to Saturday January 23

NO PICK UP BEFORE JANUARY 8. ALL ARTWORK MUST BE PICKED UP ON OR BEFORE JANUARY 23.
