U22: 2022 SEAA/LAC Members Show & Sale

The 2022 annual members show and sale celebrates the strength, vitality, creativity and wealth of talent found within the Leamington Arts Centre (LAC)/ South Essex Arts Association (SEAA). Each year, the diverse and outstanding works by our members creates an exciting and engaging exhibition whereby artists are able to showcase, share and sell their work.
The exhibition creates a platform for artists to network with peers to develop their skills and experiences. Open to all media, any subject matter. Please see submission form for more details.

BREAKING BARRIERS: Group Exhibit
March 2 – March 27

Breaking Barrier’s focus is to create an understanding of lived experiences. The exhibition seeks to highlight resilience and resourcefulness in coping with barriers. A barrier can be anything that one must overcome to reach a goal, even if the goal is simply to survive. Breaking Barriers is an exhibition for creative expression that empowers, builds awareness, and facilitates healing through the arts. It is an exhibition for creative expression that empowers, builds awareness, and facilitates partnerships and collaborations.
This exhibition is open to all 2D and 3D visual art (painting, mixed media, photography, sculpture, textile art, installations, etc.)

JURIED STUDENT ART SHOW: 24th Annual
March 30 – April 24
Deadline to Enter: Sun March 27th, 4pm
The LAC presents the 24th Annual Juried Student Art Show open to ALL Secondary Students from across Essex County with NO ENTRY FEE. Categories include: Painting, Drawing, 3D/Sculpture, Photography, Video/Film, Mixed Media, and New Media Art.
$2260 in CASH PRIZES will be awarded in EACH medium/category with a $200 “Future Artist” Award granted to the graduating student who showcases the most artistic potential, plus a $100 People’s Choice Award.

This exhibition’s focus is to highlight and showcase those offbeat, avant-guard, radical and/or extreme works of art that make us all think outside the box and push the limits of expressionism in contemporary art.

Zip Code is guest curated, cross-region and cross-selection exhibition of juried works. The exhibition’s focus is to bring together a broad and diverse collection and new scope of efficacious works to the Leamington Arts Centre.

A SIGNATURE CHRISTMAS: indoor artist market

LAC presents its annual indoor Christmas Arts & Crafts show, open to all artists and artisans in any medium; photography, painting, jewelry, literary arts, crafts, woodworking, glasswork, pottery and more… Exhibit and sell your work directly inside our beautiful galleries during this month long “gift shop” style exhibition that fills the entire main floor gallery.

Solo Exhibition Submissions
The LAC is a 10,000 sqaure foot state of the art facility. Our 4 large galleries offer 400 linear feet of continuous wall space and 3000 sq/ft of floor space for a perfect setting for exhibitions and many other community based events and receptions. Our building situated in the heart of downtown Leamington at 72 Talbot Street West offers three floors of galleries, meeting rooms, workshop and studio space, plus, it’s fully accessible!

LAC Artist Exhibition Preparation
Ontario Arts Council Exhibition Assistance
Program for: Individuals
Purpose: The program provides grants of $500 to $1,500 to assist individual artists with costs related to presenting their work in an exhibition.
Grant decisions are made through third-party recommenders (public art galleries, artist-run centres and arts service organizations) throughout the province. Artists must apply directly to a recommender located in the zone in which they live. Approved applications are forwarded to OAC by the recommender once the decision to award a grant has been made.
Eligibility: This program is open to Ontario-based professional visual artists, craft artists and media artists who have a confirmed, upcoming public exhibition. Exhibitions in Ontario, in other Canadian provinces and in international locations are all eligible.
Deadline: Recommenders establish their own application deadlines for Exhibition Assistance, or may decide to accept applications on an ongoing basis. Please refer to Recommender Deadlines and Contacts (below) for further information.
