Jury

This is a juried exhibition. The juror will select the works to be displayed in the exhibition as well as the winner. The jurors decisions are final.

The juror will be Layne Van Loo.

Paintings by Layne van Loo can be found in public and private art collections throughout Canada and the United States.                                                                                                                             Layne’s detailed renderings reflect his love for wildlife, the natural setting, and those subjects that relate to our heritage. To achieve the realistic aspect of his paintings, Layne has found a preference for water-based mediums such as acrylic, transparent watercolour, gouache, or solvent free oils.

Having done his first paintings at the age of twelve, the artist draws on many years of experience, but for him each painting is a new challenge and part of a continuing learning process.

“My hope is that viewers of my work will be able to identify with a specific piece and share in a unique visual communication”.

Layne’s artwork has received several awards from “Paint Ontario”, and from en plein air painting events within the province and has helped support local heritage and wildlife organizations. Layne is an advocate for the practice of painting from life and is the founder of “The Great Migration Paint Out,” En Plein Air Painting Competition, Exhibition and Sale in Kingsville Ontario.
