A SIGNATURE CHRISTMAS: indoor artist market

The LAC presents its annual indoor Christmas Arts & Crafts show, open to all artists and artisans in any medium; photography, painting, jewelry, literary arts, crafts, woodworking, glasswork, metal, pottery and more... Exhibit and sell your work directly inside our beautiful galleries during this month long “gift shop” style exhibition that fills the entire main floor galleries.

HOW IT WORKS

Participating artisans will be assigned 10-12ft wide wall space, approx. by 5-6ft deep of floor space in the LAC galleries to set up, display and sell their works in a large “storefront/market” style, month-long indoor artist market.

Artists displays may include, but are not limited to: original 2D and 3D arts and crafts, greeting card racks, prints and stands, jewelry displays, mannequins, shelving, easels, signs, and all that are necessary to adequately create a sales display. Bring everything you need to create your space, dress it up to your style, brand and atmosphere. Make your own storefront shop, with price tags on all items just like an art in the park, only indoors and for a month. And the best part is, LAC staff will manage all artisan shops, answer visitor questions and handle all sales. Artisans do not need to be present during the show and are only required to set up their shop, then pack up at the end of the show. Artisans may add to or change displays provided the inventory list is updated.

HOW TO SUBMIT

Complete this Submission Form and payment below before the submission deadline. Incomplete or late submissions will not be considered. You will be contacted after you've submitted your form. Your Inventory List can be provided at set up.

SUBMISSION FEE

$100 for a space.

PROPERLY PREPARING SUBMISSIONS

ALL WORK MUST BE 100% READY FOR HANGING AND/OR DISPLAY.

Artwork that is to be hung on the wall that does not include a secure, safe and suitable hanging system such as a wire will NOT be accepted and cannot be included in the show.

• ALL works MUST be securely WIRED on back to be hung on the wall. Alligator teeth style hooks do NOT work with the hanging system used at the LAC and cannot be used.

• ALL artwork must be clearly labeled/tagged with Name, Title/Description and Sale Price

• Submit a complete inventory sheet of all items on display indicating sale price, title/description, medium, quantity and any other relevant information to assist staff handling sales and inquiries.

SALES

All sales will be handled by the LAC with a reduced commission of 25%. Sales will be totaled after the exhibit end and payments along with sales summary sent to artists.

DELIVERY, SET UP & PICK UP

• Delivery and pick up of the artwork is the artist’s responsibility. All work must be delivered and set up on or before the date listed in the schedule. Loading Zone parking directly in front of the gallery. Use side elevator entrance for easy loading.

• Late artwork will NOT be accepted

• Absolutely NO early pick-up before the show’s end

Set Up: Mon, November 13 & Tuesday, November 14, 10:30am - 4:30pm

A Signature Christmas Artist Market Opens to the Public: Wed, November 15

Opening Reception: Sat, December 2, 1-3pm

Show Closes: Thurs, December 21, 5pm

Take Down: Fri December 22, 10:30am - 4:30pm & Sat December 23, 11am - 3pm

ALL DISPLAYS MUST BE TAKEN DOWN AND ARTWORK REMOVED BY DEC 23 AS THE LAC WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE HOLIDAYS UNTIL JANUARY 2.

The LAC strives to provide exhibition opportunities for all artists however, on some occasions select exhibits are juried or due to the volume of entries received all works are not able to be included on display. Artwork that is not properly wired for hanging may be modified or disclude from the exhibit. Submission fees assist to cover exhibition and programming development, administration and clerical work, storage and moving, as well as jury selection and curatorial work involved in preparing exhibitions. All submission fees are non-refundable. The LAC/SEAA reserves the right in its sole discretion to disclude any work it feels does not meet the exhibition eligibility criteria, size accommodations or any work it feels is inappropriate for all audience and could otherwise be considered offensive or overly sexualized in nature Uncollected work after 1 year of the exhibit end will become the property of the Leamington Arts Centre. We strongly advise to collect unsold works within the pick up times in the exhibition schedule. Unclaimed works may be sold and all proceeds forfeited by the artist. The LAC reserves the right to close the submissions early. These terms and conditions contain legal obligations. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before entering the event. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: I/we hereby agrees to hold the South Essex Arts Association/Leamington Arts Centre, the Mill St. Market Committee, their officers, directors, employees and volunteers, and the Corporation of the Municipality of Leamington, harmless from any and all damage, expense or liability from any injury or damage to any person, including the general public, the exhibitor, its agents or employees or to the property of the exhibitor arising out of the exhibitor’s participation in Mill St. Markets The South Essex Arts Association/Leamington Arts Centre will not be responsible for any loss or losses incurred by the exhibitor, as a result of fire, theft, water, accidents, weather, acts of God or other mishaps or incidents not specifically enumerated herein. Recognizing that Mill St. Markets are run by a not-for-profit charitable organization, the exhibitor assumes all risks and responsibilities in participating in this event. ALL SALES ARE FINAL: There are NO refunds of spaces.
