Essex County Student Film Festival Submission Form 2026

ESSEX COUNTY STUDENT FILM FESTIVAL

Sponsored by the Leamington Lions Club, the Leamington Arts Centre presents the its first Student Film Festival.

Eligibility:

The Film Festival is open to all Essex County Secondary Students. Other cast and crew do NOT have to be students.

Categories:

Limitations & Terms:

Maximum of one (1) submission per category for a total possible submissions of three (3) per student.

Film Formats & Submitting: .mov, or .mp4 ONLY by attaching files to the submission form. USB, email or other electronic means of submissions are NOT accepted.

All films submitted following the preparation guidelines.

All selected films will be presented in a special evening screening event at the Leamington Arts Centre. (See date/time below)

Late submissions or films NOT properly submitted according to the guidelines will NOT BE eligible. 

Submission Fee: $12 per submission.

Jurying: The judging panel will base decisions on:

• Aesthetics/Visual Impact, is it appealing,  visually striking, does it catch the attention viewers and hold their attention.
• Creativity/Originality, demonstration of artistic voice, originality, and imagination;
• Skill/Technique, craftsmanship, including quality, technique, and skill; attention to detail; and accuracy in communicating issues.

Prizes:

CASH prizes in EACH of the three (3) categories ($900 TOTAL) will be awarded:

• 1st Place - $150
• 2nd Place - $100
• 3rd Place - $50

Schedule:

Entry Deadline: Saturday, April 11, 5:00pm (SHARP! NO EXCEPTIONS!)

Notification of Acceptance: Tuesday, April 28

Film Screening & Awards Presentation: Thursday, May 7, 7pm
