She Who Bathes the Moon; Chang'e: Artist Talk

We look forward to seeing you on Friday, May 1st at 8pm for the She Who Bathes the Moon; Chang’e: Artist Talk at the Leamington Arts Centre.

Join Alexandria Masse and Fei Qin in exploring the ancient myth of Chang’e, (嫦娥), the Chinese moon goddess who sought refuge on the moon with her rabbit after consuming the elixir of immortality taken from her husband, Hou Yi (后羿). “She who bathes the moon; Chang’e” reimagines Chang’e not as distant mythology, but as a living mirror for contemporary diasporic identity. The exhibition is structured around the 28-day lunar cycle, carried over through knitting and crochet, the primary mediums of this exhibition, worked in the round.
