Arts @ the Marina

Celebrate the arts with us! The South Essex Arts Association/Leamington Arts Centre proudly presents its 29th annual Arts @ the Marina outdoor arts and crafts show.

This two-day event held Canada Day weekend at the scenic lakeside Leamington Municipal Marina and Rick Atkin Park, 90 Robson Road, features dozens of artisans on display, live local music, children’s activities, food and refreshments. Arts @ the Marina is a family tradition and our volunteers and staff remain committed to the show’s strong reputation of providing an authentic arts and craft show. Arts @ the Marina is the major fundraiser for the LAC, a not-for-profit charitable organization.

It is with disappointment that due to COVID-19 the Leamington Arts Centre (LAC) has had to make the challenging decision to once again cancel the annual Arts @ the Marina outdoor arts and crafts show.

After having to cancel in 2020 due to COVID-19 the LAC was enthusiastically hoping to once again present its major fundraising event, which was to be held on July 3, and 4. For nearly three decades at the scenic municipal marina, the LAC has featured thousands of artisans and welcomed even more visitors to Leamington’s most popular arts event.

This is now the second time in the event’s long history that it has been cancelled. However, in consideration for public health and safety, the uncertain next few months and all the time and planning that goes into Arts @ the Marina, the LAC has decided be cautious and hold off another year.

We understand this will again be a disappointment to the community and our exhibitors, but it is the best decision at this time and one that the Arts @ the Marina planning committee did not make easily.
We sincerely thank all our exhibitors who had expressed interest in participating in the show, to our continued sponsors, dedicated volunteers, service and equipment providers and to all the community who planned to, and who come out each year to support this great show and the LAC.

The LAC will continue to monitor the pandemic and follow public health official recommendations, and whenever possible to safely do so, the LAC will feature many other unique arts and culture events throughout the year. We encourage all to continue to show your support to the arts and view the artist exhibitions in the gallery, shop in the Market Place and in the Art Supply Store and stay connected on social medial for new and exciting virtual programming to come.

On behalf of the LAC, thank you to the community for supporting the LAC other ways through this past year. We truly hope to see everyone back for 2022 Arts @ the Marina!

Wishing everyone health and happiness,

Chad Riley, MFA, ISA
