WELLNESS THROUGH ARTS PROGRAM

Ongoing Through 2019

The Leamington Arts Centre (LAC) / South Essex Arts Association (SEAA) are proud to announce in partnership with the Leamington District Memorial Hospital (LDMH) the Wellness Through Arts Program. The first stage of this program can be viewed at the LDMH commencing Thursday, January 30th in the new Diagnostic Imaging Department on the lower level. As the program expands, it will embrace and transform a variety of additional spaces within the hospital. Interested Artists, please contact the LAC. The Wellness Through Arts Program at the Leamington District Memorial Hospital is dedicated to the well-being of patients, families, caregivers and the community. The program’s aim is to integrate the creative arts and aesthetics into the healing spaces within the hospital by reducing stress and promoting calming environments that replace anxiety with hope and holistic well-being. The program is made possible through the support of local artists, the Leamington District Memorial Hospital and the Leamington Arts Centre/ South Essex Arts Association. We welcome you to share in the spaces, to enjoy the beauty and serenity it may bring to you and your loved ones.

The Leamington Arts Centre presents free Artist Networking Meetings aimed at supporting the personal and professional development of artists in the Windsor-Essex and Pelee Island Region. Held every three months, these networking sessions will connect artists and arts enthusiasts in the area to collaborate, discuss, learn and support one another. This is a great chance to meet like-minded arts people and creative professionals, like you! Led by a moderator, artists will discuss prepared topics as themes or starting points for discussion to engage in open dialogue about their respective practices and experiences. No need to register, just drop in! 

 
CORKS & CANVAS: Wine & Paint Night 

Fri Feb 8, 7pm

Enjoy a paint night at the LAC! Corks and Canvas is an evening to “drink creatively” with your friends or significant other. $49/person or $89/couple. Includes wine, all art supplies (paints, brushes, canvas) and guided instruction. Contact the LAC to purchase your tickets.. Generously Sponsored by the Leamington BIA, Aleksander Estate Winery.

It is an exhibit of new, inspirational and stimulating artwork that highlights artist’s feats and flights through the thrills of personal and spiritual migration and growth.

Bring in your treasures to be evaluated by Riches Appraisal & Consult for $15 per item (maximum 3 items). Pre-registrations available. All proceeds will benefit the LAC!

ABOUT THE APPRAISER: Julie Riches
Having worked within the decorative arts industry for over a decade, Julie has amassed a broad range of knowledge across many disciplines. Her comprehensive understanding of the ever-changing market has proven essential when managing estates and private collections. Areas of expertise include Silver, Art Glass, Bronzes, Fine Lighting, Porcelain & Pottery, Fine Art, Furniture, Coins and Military items. Julie works closely with private collectors, historical institutions, trust officers, estate lawyers, executors and real estate agents. Julie is a current member of the International Society of Appraisers.

Come see a festive presentation of jewelry, pottery, ceramics, driftwood and woodworking arts and crafts, acrylic, oil and watercolour paintings, photography and much more; handmade items to fit every budget from stocking stuffers to signature gifts. Everyone is certain to enjoy shopping in a warm Christmas setting in this month-long “holiday store” with free visitor admission!
